The Foundation celebrated Christmas early for the Jimenez Family of Santa Ana. The mother, Rosa, was kidnapped in El Salvador at age 7 and sold to someone in Mexico. After years of slavery, she was able to escape and cross the border into California. Despite her horrific life, Rosa has been able to raise 4 amazing children - Eduardo, Paola, Alfredo and Christina.
As a single mother, Rosa struggles to provide for her children. She came to El Cucuy's attention through a listener. Cucuy decided to bring Christmas early to the family. On Wednesday, we all went down to Santa Ana and brought the family gifts of a bunk bed, a computer, toaster, blender, dishes, silverware and lots of toys for the kids. We also set-up a Christmas tree and decorated the house. I hope the trick or treator's do not get confused. Telemundo covered the story and aired it this morning on Cada Dia (like the Today Show on NBC).
Once again, a small dog was part of the story. (See the story about Oscar, the 1,000 lb man). Muñeca (Doll) was so cute. She maneuvered with great skill through the legs of twelve people standing in the living room.
