Another Zentangle Fantasy Garden

I went on a field trip today to Wal-Mart in Baldwin Hills.  It was my first time there and the store must be one of the original stores.  My primary motive was to see if their pharmacy could fill my prescriptions cheaper - but they couldn't.  So I shopped around a found a couple of other things that I needed.

I took everything off my desk this afternoon (including the computer, monitor, printer and scanner) and cleaned.  I even vacuumed all that dust that accumulates around the cords.

I started to scan all the zentangles I have created since I was home in Kansas.  Here is one of them that I embellished digitally.

Matchbook Ephemera

I was downsizing my stash of ephemera this morning and found this wonderful vintage matchbook from Brody's Village Inn in Indianapolis.  Aren't the bottles of liquor wonderful?  I'm going to ask Eric if he would like to add it to his collection.

I have drawers and drawers of paper, ephemera, gift wrapping, cardboard, etc. and more drawers full of things I have made with all this stuff over the years.

My mission is to greatly reduce my inventory and put the things I have made in an art journal.  Wish me luck!

Back To "Tangling"

Many months ago, I started a 11"x14" zentangle and finally this morning I finished it.  Almost everyday, I draw and now have many sketchbooks full of work. (I have been doing this since last April.) I need to take the time to scan everything and organize what I have done.

Nothing concrete to report  on the job front.  I have so many plans (I believe I am up to Plan Q) but I am still waiting for that sign from above to come down and hit me in the head.  I have been using the time off doing a variety of things. 

I emptied my storage unit at American Storage and have sorted through the stuff.  Most of it were old canvases - not quite sure what I will do with them - perhaps paint over them.

Los Angeles Bridge

I'm still playing around with some of the photos I took on my walk.  I created the blue background by manipulating another photo I had in my stash.  If only the skies in LA could be this blue!

I went to San Francisco last weekend to attend the National Association of Specialty Food trade show.  I took an all day class on "How to Get Your Product to Market."  It was well worth the time.

I read today the following:

Sounds good to me!  Drink up!

4th Street Bridge

Wow! Two days of blogging in a row.  Perhaps I'm back to my routine.

On my way back from my morning walk (and coffee), I took a number of pictures of telephone, utility and light poles.  Having been inspired by a piece of art I saw in neighbors Eric and Phil's loft, I took this particular photo and manipulated it in PSP.

This old light pole is on the 4th street bridge that connects downtown Los Angeles and Boyle Heights.  For fans of the "Biggest Loser," this is the bridge that was recently used for the challenge in the first episode.  The bridge has been used for many other TV and movie shoots. 

Blogging Again

I'm so far behind with my blog.  In summary, I've been to Kansas three times in recent months.  Mother is doing fine after her hip surgery; however, she has been in the hospital a couple more times for various reasons.  She is home now and back to her usual routine.

In between trips, I have painting dogs (as you can see in the photo).  My goal is to complete twenty.

I'm still not working and do not have a clue what I will be doing this time next year.  I have been working on several plans, but I have nothing to report yet.
