•As a child, I did not like gathering eggs on the farm because the hens were mean.
• I played the Doris Day part in “Pillow Talk” in a high school play.
• I played defensive line woman on my girl’s football team in high school - real football, not powder puff.
• I ate dinner at a restaurant next to Vice President Bush’s table in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by secret service agents.
• I played the French horn and the cymbals in my high school band – horribly.
• I was the Sports Editor of my high school paper.
• When I moved to California, I lived in Malibu. I now live near Skid Row.
• I did not finish kindergarten.

I made another trip to IKEA this weekend. I have become very disciplined when visiting this store. Before I enter, I start my mantra "No small things, no small things, no small things." When I see something lime green, I say, "Walk away, walk away, walk away." When I approach the children's area, I say "Close your eyes, close your eyes, close your eyes."

I came away with only things on my shopping list which included a three drawer chest for storage that took me most of Sunday to put together.

The final challenge at IKEA is the walk through the Marketplace. Tantalizing gadgets beckon you to take them home. The lime green rubber gloves almost tripped me up. They were in my hands, but I dropped them and hurried to check-out.

I am starting my Christmas list and it includes this table. I must have it.

By the way, the book American Tragedy is very good.
