The workshop I went to on Saturday inspired me to try to make some paper-dolls with various Victorian clip-art "parts." I searched through clipart.com and filtered with "Victorian" made by Dover. There were 68 pages to scroll through. I looked at everything wondering what kind of body part it could be.
Mathilda was the first to emerge. She was assembled with two spoons, a plate of something surrounded by apples, a candlestick holder turned upside down and a some boots I took from a very pretty looking child. Since the face was a bit strange, and I could not tell if it was a man or a woman, I added some more hair and made the smile not so sinister.
Next, I am going to print her parts out on card stock. Glue the sheets to more card stock for durability. Cut the parts out. And then use eyelets to make Mathilda jointed. She will end being about 15" tall.
Mad Max is next. He is quite interesting. I will post him tomorrow.
IN MEMORY of John Stucky: Today my ex-husband is being buried in Arkansas. We were married in 1974 and divorced in 1979. He was a big part of my life and I do feel for his family. He had been suffering for many years from a brain stem injury and had not been able to recognize anyone for quite some time.
