Unimportant Things About Me

•As a child, I did not like gathering eggs on the farm because the hens were mean.
• I played the Doris Day part in “Pillow Talk” in a high school play.
• I played defensive line woman on my girl’s football team in high school - real football, not powder puff.
• I ate dinner at a restaurant next to Vice President Bush’s table in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by secret service agents.
• I played the French horn and the cymbals in my high school band – horribly.
• I was the Sports Editor of my high school paper.
• When I moved to California, I lived in Malibu. I now live near Skid Row.
• I did not finish kindergarten.

Mabel_march_2007 Mabel posed for a photo taken by friend Charlie from New York. This is her leaf bowl. JJ is not allowed to use it. Charlie and I spent Saturday having lunch, looking at his photos from India and catching up on all the gossip.

Sunday I worked most of the day at the in-door immigration rally at the LA Sports Arena. Cucuy was acting up and difficult to manage. He was mad at all of us and was throwing a temper tantrum. Like a child, we just all ignored him. My biggest objective was met. I wanted to make sure he was with Mayor Villaraigosa and Speaker Nunez backstage to test the political waters after all the legal things we have been going through. They both warmly greeted him - especially Nunez.

I leave on Wednesday for Artfest 2007 in Seattle and can not wait to get away from LA and the phone!
