"Team Raile" arrived on Wednesday. We wasted no time. After a quick survey of my loft, the four of us headed to IKEA in Burbank. Within a few hours, many major purchases were made including a huge storage system and two enormous tables for "The Play Area." A few other things were selected including a five drawer cabinet for the bathroom. The best part was the ability to have everything delivered the next day. IKEA is my friend!
We replenished our energy with a stop at California Pizza Kitchen. Then we headed back to the loft to start moving things out of the way in anticipation of the delivery the next day. The following morning, "the purge" part of the transformation began. We started in one corner and went through everything. The choices were keep, trash or donate. I did good! Lots of trash bags were taken to the dumpster and lots of boxes were taken to my SUV for a visit to Goodwill.
Unfortunately, I had to go to work for a few hours, but when I returned we went to Home Depot to buy a new vacuum cleaner and lots of misc. things. Oh my! The new Dyson vacuum is amazing. Of course, I had a lot of dust, fuzz, and cat hair to begin with, but the new vacuum finds it all. Tim entertained himself most of the night cleaning anything that had cat hair on it (which was about everything).
The place is a total mess right now. Everything is being pulled out and reorganized. Poor Robyn became very ill last night. I do hope it is the flu and not a reaction to all my stuff. Jessica and I took a break to watch Grey's Anatomy. One of the actors lives in my building - I won't say who, in case someone reading this is a stalker.
Tomorrow the Virgin of Guadalupe arrives from Mexico so I will be working at work while Team Raile works at the loft. I do hope when I return home, they haven't thrown "all my stuff" away.
