Actually there wasn't enough time to play this weekend. I had to rush down to Kaiser in Harbor City Friday afternoon to keep Oscar (1,000 pound man) from being discharged. Met with hospital administrators and they agreed to keep him for awhile.
Got home just in time to meet old friend Ray Chemes who had been in town for a doctor's appointment (he lives in San Diego). We went out to eat, and he spent the night at the loft. He wasn't quite sure about my new living situation, but I think he finally came around and saw how much I enjoyed living in a warehouse. CSI was filming behind the building, and we made several drive-bys to catch the action.
After a quick Starbucks run the next morning, we went to Moskatel's so I could pick-up some art supplies. Poor Ray, he was so out of place and lost. Being a former DEA agent, he just doesn't get the whole arts and crafts thing.
Later in the day, Jackie and I met Jane at French 75 in Century City to celebrate her birthday. I had the most marvelous steak and glass of champagne. It was fun catching up on gossip.
Sunday morning I slept in and then started rearranging furniture. I am bringing the art studio out to the former living room area and plan to make the art studio into a guest room area. It created such a horrible mess and I was ready to abandon the whole idea. But I really wanted to see if it would work. The verdict is still out. Mother is coming on Tuesday and I know she will not like it. She prefers all her messes to be hidden. But the new arrangement allows me more work area and of course, more messes.
