What a great weekend. A lot going on. First, I took a class at sweetpeas and snapshots to learn to solder. Love the process even though my first three charms look terrible. I am blaming it on my poor eyesight - my contacts make it difficult to see things up close. I will continue to practice. I do believe I have it in my hereditary genes. My grandfather Gottlieb Raile was a master welder.
Saturday I worked all day on the PEO recipe book. Some pages are turning out great - other need to be redone. Can't post any pages until after Saturday when the book goes up for auction at the "Make It Bake It Sew It Grow It" holiday auction. I don't want anyone from the PEO group to get a sneak peek.
Early Sunday evening, neighbor Eric took me to Pasadena to visit Stats. Why have I not discovered this place before. It is a huge place filled with great stuff. At the moment it is all about Halloween and Christmas. I only picked up a few things, but I got lots of ideas for Christmas including lime green and hot pink Christmas trees plus making my own Christmas palm tree.
Eric and I then went back to the lofts to pick up Phil. We all went to eat at Hugo's in the valley and then we headed over to Boney Island in Sherman Oaks. Oh my! What a treat. Pure brilliance. Rick Polizzi has taken a front yard and turned it into a Skeleton Carnival. There is nothing spooky here, just lots of skeletons doing outrageous things. Everywhere you turn, a skeleton is either in a batting cage, singing with the Skeletones, being shot out of a cannon, reading minds, riding amusement rides, crawling up trees, riding a hot air balloon or singing merrily on the chimney. If you take in Boney Island, take your time. There are lots of things to see, even in the bushes.
